I have a feeling this will be a long post:) So bear with me!
First off...I can't believe all the entries for the blog candy! I have already added something to it for having 100+ entries. Can't believe it!! :) By the way my Birthday is May 8th, the day i am drawing.
Next my card! I had to make a card for Mother's Day. This is hard for me every year because i lost my mom to lung cancer in 2005. I was very close to my mom, we always did stuff together, hid things from Dad together, i even gave my mom a kidney 9 years ago. I miss my mom more and more everyday, and people say its gets easier everyday...ummm i don't think it will ever get easier. My mother was a rock, she went through so much in her 63 years with us and i admire her for it. She was child #5 of 6 kids, she only finished up to grade 8 in school because she had to work to help the family. She married my dad when she was only 19 because she was pregnant with my sister. My dad was not the nicest man back then (he has learned a lot over the years though, and is a wonderful man now). She worked full time as a cook in the hospital but somehow managed to always have one meal ready for us. By the time i came around my sister was 15 and my brother was 13, can you say OOPS! lol She always told me i was the best OOPS! ha ha
My mom always smiled and laughed no matter what the situation. She always encouraged me to do what a wanted (even playing heavy metal in the house, drums none the less!) and be myself. My mom was not a fancy woman, she was a plain jane (like me) because she always tol

d us its not whats on the outside that matters but what is on the inside.
My mom was always there for us when we were sick (she came to see me an hour after we had surgery), sad (divorce, break ups, pets dying), and angry (she could always make us laugh about it.). But the most important things were she was there for us everyday we needed her! She was amazing!! It may sound strange but i had a few dreams about my mom after she passed away, and those dreams really happen. It always gives me comfort knowing she is still there for me:)
Ok onto the card...(wipe the tears away...)

I started this card with
Taylor's Sketch Challenge for the week. It was a simple sketch, perfect for my mom. I got this lovely Magnolia stamp in a card kit and she is holding lilacs (my moms fave flowers, i will never forget the day my dad took her lilac bush out...she was so mad! ha ha)
The Designer paper is unknown (came in the kit). I used a new EK sucess punch and tied it with some pretty organdy ribbon. I used the Love You sentiment from Short and Sweet and finished it off with a heart i had lying around.
I coloured Tilda with copics, used stickles on the wings and used a white gel pen for some highlights.
Well i hope you like my card, it came together pretty easy (just how my mom would have liked it) but i like the result. It has been a tradition to give my sister a card and flowers every year since my mom passed away so i think i will give her this card, she will understand why!
Hugs to you and your Moms:)
