ORGAN DONATION SAVES LIVES!!!

Happy Tuesday everyone! I wanted to post this yesterday but i have some obligations with one of my DT's so i didn't do it. I am doing it today because this is a topic that is near and dead to my heart.

10 years ago on April 26th i donated a kidney to my mother. I am a strong believer in organ donation and this post is to raise awareness to sign your donor cards!!

The process to donating a kidney was a long one but it was an experience i would do all over again if i had to! To see my mother be able to travel again, regain energy and be generally a happier person made it all worth it in the end.

Unfortunately i lost my mom in 2005 to lung cancer, but i am so happy i gave her 5 years more to life she may not have gotten being on dialysis. She got to go to Atlantic City, she got to see me get married (and divorced! lol), she got to go to Las Vegas, got to see her grandkids grow up to awesome people. She got to live life without restrictions, and that is why i believe organ donation is so important, IT SAVES LIVES!!

This was an article that was front page of the Niagara Falls Review and this picture was taken 5 days after surgery! Doesn't my mom look amazing! :)

Although i miss her everyday i know she is still with me in all i do! :) My mom was an amazing woman, she went through a lot and fought every step of the way! I hope one day i can be that amazing:)

SIGN YOUR DONOR CARD TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HUGS:)

  1. I've always signed mine...for as long as I've been able! It's very important to me as well...i've known too many people who lived because of organ donation. And my grandmother needed a liver, but was too sick to be on the list. Thanks for promoting and YAY you for making the sacrifice!
